Before the cop came to collect me, I snapped this picture. I haven't edited it yet, but here's a teaser. It's awesome. Just like me...

Shoots sometimes don't happen...
Saturday I was supposed to drive up to Mt. Laguna to the abandoned Air Force base to do a grime type shoot. Well, it rained. Instead I did a photo shoot of Heidi, my favorite glamazon... in my garage.
Then today, it was sunny! I thought, "What a GREAT day to go to Mt Laguna!"
I get up there... it was snowy. Not too cold, but icy everywhere. We get up to the abandoned buildings, ignoring the "NO TRESPASSING" signs, and commence shooting. Right up until the police came. Damn it...
Oh well, it was a more expensive shoot than I originally planned for. Shit happens.
Here are some photo of the shoot I did with Heidi. Enjoy

Photos of an unwilling subject
When Photographing an obstinate or unwilling subject, the best thing to do is to shoot them in their natural habitat, somewhere they are comfortable. Dillon hates when I take pictures of him, so I try to take them while he is doing something that he enjoys doing... or at least can't get up and run away during.
This is Dillon. He hates when I take pictures of him. I do it anyway though. This is an infrared image.
Haha this is Dillon at a slow shutter speed, low light. I told him to close his eyes really tightly, then open them up wide. This... is scary.
This is an infrared shot of Dillon at the computer.

It's been a while.. I know, I suck at blogging
Since November, I HAVE taken pictures... I just have yet to put them up. Sorry. I will. Soon even.
This weekend, I am going up to an abandoned Air Force installation to take photos. Most will be taken with my Canon ae-1 35mm film camera. Some will be taken with my Nikon D70 for the website.
The theme I am going to follow is juxtaposition... with wine!
Yes, there will be wine. I'm sure that at the shoots the bottles will start out full... and end up empty. That's how I roll.
Here's my counter top, just so you know I'm serious:

"My Life, My Hobby, My Career!" or... "I'll shoot you"
Introductory post... ok... I'd write something insanely humorous and witty, but I'm not that funny... deal with it.
I'm a 26 year old aspiring photographer. I used to like being in front of the camera, but it turns out I'm not that good looking. Sad. I spend my time now behind the camera, which most people would agree, is where I belong. Ok, I'm not like "ogre" ugly or anything, but you'd be high to think I could win a beauty pageant. :-)
I'm self-taught, but plan on getting my degree in Photography /Visual Arts. Hmmm... I should probably take some classes on how to run a small business...
I realize I'm doing things a bit... ok a LOT, backwards. I bought a camera, took pictures for 5 years and then decided to open my own photo business and NOW I'm deciding to get my degree and take photo classes. WHO DOES THAT?? I do... apparently.
I shoot right now with a Nikon DSLR. A D70. I know it's not high end or pro, but I think a good photographer could shoot with a Polaroid camera and produce something you'd want to look at.
I edit with Corel Paintshop Pro and I adore it. I am always learning new techniques and you can see the evolution of my art on my Flickr photo album. But trust me... I'm awesome.

I love shooting everything from landscapes to people and pets. I've shot in China, Belgium, Colombia, and my favorite... San Diego!
